The St. Joseph's CYO 6th grade basketball team kicked off the season with a 28-18 victory over Saint Peter's of Port Washington. Coaches Kevin Vaughn and Mike Grippo are proud of the team's accomplishment as the girls have been training hard and practicing key drills. All the girls contributed with a crushing defense and well rounded offense. Bitty Furman, Katherine Vaughn, Victoria and Andrea Rouse, Linda Attanasio, Casey Grippo and Katie McCabe scored baskets. Victoria Piscoppo, Katie Rizzo, Gabrielle Fressle, Meghan Welsh combined to play well-executed defense. The team is looking forward to a fun-filled winning season.
