Garden City Resident Joins Hospital Fund's Board
"Each of these individuals-Tom Harrison, Peter Powers, and Mary Beth Tully-brings invaluable skills and experience, in very different fields, to the board of the United Hospital Fund," said James R. Tallon, Jr., president of the United Hospital Fund. "The other directors and the staff of the Fund feel very fortunate to have them on board to help lead and guide the Fund's mission to shape positive change in health care for the people of New York." Ms. Tully, who has worked professionally in both the public and non-profit sectors, has devoted her time in recent years to various volunteer causes. She was elected to the New York Junior League in 1992, and served as its president from 2002-2004. She is a board member of Palladia, Inc., one of the nation's largest nonprofit, multi-service substance abuse agencies, and is chairman of the United Hospital Fund's Committee on Voluntary Initiatives. From 1997 until 1999, Ms. Tully served as director of the Greater New York chapter of the American Liver Foundation, and from 1987 until 1997, Ms. Tully served as an administrator and health care policy and financial analyst with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC). While at HHC, she was selected as a Health Policy Fellow of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems, and she also served as one of the senior officers of MetroPlus Health Plan, a Medicaid managed care plan. Ms. Tully graduated fromLehigh University and holds an M.P.A. in health policy and management from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
