Appointed Executive Director At Adelphi

Adelphi University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Marcia G. Welsh is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn O'Riley to the position of University College Executive Director. In this post, Mr. O'Riley will lead Adelphi's premiere adult undergraduate degree program. Founded more than 30 years ago, the program offers adults, ages 21 or older, the opportunity to earn bachelor's and associate's degrees in order to advance in their present careers, prepare for new ones, qualify for higher-level study, and fulfill personal goals.

"Adelphi University is delighted to welcome Shawn O'Riley," said Adelphi University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Marcia G. Welsh. "For more than three decades, Adelphi has been a leader in providing highly personalized and convenient undergraduate degree programs for busy and ambitious adults, and we are pleased he will continue this tradition and build on the strengths of the program to serve the needs of today's adult students."

Prior to Adelphi, Mr. O'Riley served as associate director of continuing education at Hunter College, where his responsibilities included course and program development and scheduling, budget management, and marketing and promotions. He holds an M.A. from Pacific University and is currently working on his M.S.Ed. in higher education administration at Baruch College.
