Garden City Xtreme vs. Oceanside Wave Runnerz

Sam Derby carries the ball up the field

Last Saturday the Xtreme played the Oceanside Wave Runnerz. Right from the start, we were playing great. Early in the first half, Samantha Miesemer gave a super pass into Lauren Miesemer, who hit the back of the net to give us a 1-0 lead. Then a few minutes later, Deanna DiPierro had an amazing pass to Sam Miesemer from a corner kick. Sam one timed the ball past the goalie for our second goal. The Xtreme were also playing really good defense. The defenders were Katie Roscoe, Deanna DiPierro, and Cara Adams. They played so well the ball practically never got to our goalie, Sam Derby, who was ready just in case.

In the second half, Joanna Sokolovic took some dangerous shots on goal. Cara worked very hard and got by the defense and scored our team's third goal. Our amazing center forward, Isabel McKeown, made perfect passes to her wings Samantha, Lauren, Colette Seel and Joanna. Sam D. and Colette also helped on defense in the second half and they did great. Our injured but healing teammate, Alison Holfester, was cheering us on from the side line. Once the game was over the Xtreme walked away with a 3-0 win.
