The "Patriettes" Defeat Oyster Bay Endurance

The Garden City "Patriettes" U10 girls' soccer team enjoyed their first victory of the season on September 30th when they defeated the Oyster Bay Endurance 2 to 0. Once again, the girls played an exceptional team oriented game anchored by goal keepers Caitlin Kaczynski and Julie Biscardi. The Patriettes took the lead with approximately 10 minutes remaining in the 1st half, when Alicia Mueller scored the Patriette's first goal of the season on a pass from Kelly McDonnell. At the start of the 2nd half, Laurel Nothel, Annemarie Kane and Claire Murphy placed tremendous pressure on Oyster Bay, while the defense of Christie Pflume, Erin Rode and Kelly McDonnell kept the Oyster Bay attack in check. With only 5 minutes remaining in the game, Kelsey Whitney scored the team's second goal on a pass from Annemarie Kane, placing the game out of reach for Oyster Bay. The Patriettes are looking forward to competing in Windsor, Connecticut over the holiday weekend. Let's go Patriettes!
