Sheer And Highfill On Regents Committee

This summer Mr. William Highfill, a social studies teacher at Garden City High School, was a member of the Regents Examination committee for DBQ writing in Albany for the NY State Education Department. His tasks included researching and developing DBQ essays that will appear on future 11th grade US History and Government Regents examinations. Only three active teachers in New York State were selected to serve on this committee. Mr. Sheer, Social Studies Coordinator 6-12, was asked to write 40 multiple choice questions for the United States History and Government Regents examination, including 10 questions using visuals such as political cartoons.
