Winter Kids Brochures At The Printers
      The brochures for the Winter Program for Kids are already at the printers, so, look for them soon. The brochures will be sent home with students during December instead of being sent home with students on the first day of school in January.

      To celebrate the 70th Birthday of Stewart Avenue School, this year's annual Thanksgiving Assembly focused on the history of the school, the Village of Garden City, and the nation from 1930 to the present.

Church School Donates To Operation Christmas Child
      On Sunday, November 5 the Church School program of the Garden City Community Church held a "special outreach event". Children from Nursery School age to Seventh grade wrapped shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for an organization called Samaritan's Purse which runs an event called "Operation Christmas Child".

      A Work Session of the Board of Education will meet at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006 in the Administration Building, 56 Cathedral Avenue, Garden City, New York. There will be a demonstration of the new district web page and a report on budget code modification.

Garden City High School News By Sara Hayes News
      Winter Wonderland is the winter dance at Garden City High School. The dance used to be a big deal among students who went all out with their hair, dresses, limos, and everything else. A few years ago changes began to be made to the dance. The grades allowed to attend were split with Spring Fling. Freshman and sophomores attend Spring Fling, and juniors and seniors went to Winter Wonderland.

St. Joseph School Spelling Champions
      St. Joseph School held its first Spelling Bee of the year on November 21. Representatives from grades 6, 7 and 8 participated in an exciting spelling face off in front of the entire student body. The first place winner was Elizabeth Adrian. Second place was earned by Abigail Gjurich and third place went to Jack McKay.
