For the 28th year, shop windows in the central business district and on New Hyde Park Road will be judged and awarded for the best in holiday style and spirit next Thursday, December 14 between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Shops are advised to keep their windows lit to best show off their displays. There will be 10 winners including "best over all" in the central business district, and one window on New Hyde Park Road.

Once again, restaurant interiors in the central business district will also be judged and awarded for the most beautifully decorated, with the 3 top winners recognized. All winners will be photographed for the Garden City News and presented with framed certificates. Judges include representatives from the four property owners' associations, the Garden City Historical Society and professional artist, Suzie Alvey. Seventh Street Cafe will graciously host the judges as they deliberate over the winners. The Holiday Window Contest is part of the annual Chamber-sponsored Village Holiday Program.
