Local resident Lana Noone was recently interviewed for an upcoming profile to be published in the April, 2007 American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Magazine.

The article focuses on her Vietnam "Operation Babylift" Living Historian work and her book, "Global Mom: Notes From a Pioneer Adoptive Family".

Lana and Byron Noone, participated in the Vietnam Babylift, April, 1975, and were also actively involved in the passage of the Unaccompanied Minor's Bill.

Lana is a recent recipient of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation's Humanitarian Award and also received a New York State Senate Commendation for her work.

In 2006, her Vietnam Babylift daughter, Heather Constance Noone, received a posthumous Certificate of Congressional Recognition, presented on the floor of the United States House of Representatives, Washington, DC.
