The Fabulous King Tut Exhibit Awaits You
One of the most spectacular archaeological discoveries of all times is coming to the US and Adult Education is going to see it!
National Geographic and the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities will bring an extensive exhibition of more than 130 treasures from the tomb of the celebrated pharaoh Tutankhamum (King Tut), other Valley of the Kings tombs and additional ancient sites to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.
"Tutankhamum and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" is the name of the exhibition, which is NOT coming to New York.
The nearest venue to see this exhibit is Philadelphia and Adult Ed has available to you an overnight visit which includes seeing the famous Philadelphia Flower Show.
The King Tut exhibit includes 50 major artifacts excavated from Tutankhamun's tomb, including his royal diadem - the gold crown discovered encircling the head of the king's mummified body that he likely wore while living - and one of the gold and inlaid canopic coffinettes that contained his mummified internal organs.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will take place on Sunday, March 4th and will return on Monday, March 5th and includes admission tickets to both King Tut and the Flower Show as well as your round trip bus, overnight and baggage handling at the Sheraton Society Hill hotel, and a buffet breakfast.
The cost is $299 if there are 30 travelers and $279 if there are 40 travelers. Please send two checks, one for $20 (which will be returned if there are 40 travelers) and one for $279. Both checks are payable to: Garden City Schools.
It is extremely important that you register as soon as possible so tickets can be ordered once we have at least 30 travelers. Please share this info with anyone who you know and who might be interested in this experience. For more info, call 478-1070.
