On Saturday, November 11, 2006, the Blazers took the field against the Hewlett Lawrence Blue Strike. In goal for the Blazers was Patrick Mohan in the first half and Adam Davies in the second half. Both Adam and Patrick have been having a great season making some incredible saves and this day would be no different. On offense was Jonathan Castoro, Joseph Giarraputo, Zach Miner, Chris Stumpf and Brian Tully. The defense included Justin Gong, Brendan Harney, Chris Hourmouzis, Aidan Logan and Reed Bonvissuto. The Blazers dominated play and kept the majority of the action during both halves in front of the opposing goal. In addition to dominating play, during the first half the Blazers put a score on the board as Joseph Giarraputo put the ball in the net for a key goal. Joseph continued to put the pressure on the Blue Strike goalie as he shot at the goal in many other exciting plays for near misses. The Blazers goal was quickly followed up with a huge play by Zach Miner with a big kick caught by the goalie. Jonathan Castoro was quick on the field and made a great play where he stripped the ball from a Blue Strike player and sent it downfield. Chris Hourmouzis showed off his fancy footwork as he outsmarted the opposing team. Chris Stumpf and Brian Tully all had the right moves and passed the ball effectively which helped keep the Blazers to a 1:0 lead at halftime.

The second half also saw much action and key moves by the Blazers players.
Aidan Logan made a great defensive play as he maneuvered around a Blue Strike player with great agility and booted the ball downfield. Justin Gong played a strong, solid game and outplayed every Blue Strike player he went up against. A great offensive play was made in a combination play by Patrick Mohan when he got control of the ball, took it downfield and passed it to Brendan Harney who took a quick shot for a near score. Adam Davies in goal kept up the strong defense throughout the half especially making two critical saves of penalty kicks on goal. While the entire game was competitive, the latter part of this game was even more so as the Blue Strike players came on stronger. The Blazers pushed back even harder which made for much excitement on the sidelines. This was a key win for the Blazers team and evidenced player tenacity. Thank you to Coach Rick Harken and Assistant Coach Lavaune Gong for continuing to guide these players in their strive for perfection while still having fun.
