The Xtreme were ready for the challenge. The team arrived at the field knowing they would have to play their best to beat the talented Wantagh/Seaford team. When Deanna DiPierro scored from a corner kick two minutes into the match, the Xtreme knew it was going to be a good day. Superb ball movement by the Xtreme caused major problems for the revolution and at the end of the match it was 3-0 Garden City.

Much of the success the Xtreme have enjoyed this fall is due to their ability to put immediate pressure on their opponent at the start of their matches. Saturday was no different as the Xtreme quickness to the ball had the offense getting two quick shots on goal. With the second shot, the Xtreme were awarded a corner kick. Deanna took the corner and was able to curve the ball past the keeper and into the goal for the team's first goal; what an incredible shot! This gave the Xtreme immediate momentum. Four minutes later, Sam Miesemer and Colette Seel moved the ball to the top of the 18 yard box and found center Isabel McKeown open. Isabel got the ball and had a perfect finish, putting her team up 2-0 Katie /Roscoe and Alison Holfester were in at outside backs. Both did a fabulous job of stopping Revolution Forwards and supporting their forwards on the attack. Deanna was in at center back, her speed and athleticism making it impossible for the Wantagh Seaford team to penetrate the Xtreme's penalty area. Sam Derby was the first half keeper, constantly communicating with her defenders and holding the opponents from scoring.

Another 25 minutes of good marking, communication and smart passing would uphold the 2-0 lead. Sam D. went in at sweeper and Sam. M. was the keeper. Alison, Lauren Miesemer and Joanna Sokolovic were in at forward. These three players continued to pressure the Revolution with intelligent ball movement and well driven shots on goal. A very talented Wantagh/Seaford Keeper made a few incredible saves to keep the match close. Cara Adams and Jenna Codignotto were in at outside backs. Both continued the fine defensive play. They connected with their target players and kept the ball out of the Xtreme penalty area. Sam M. made a great save 14 minutes into the half, keeping the two goal lead. At the 19 minute mark, Joanna sealed the victory when Cara played her in on goal. Joanna's speed sent her one on one with the keeper and she blew it past her for the final goal.
