Waldorf Students Honored For National Merit Scores
Garden City South resident, Claire Lyons, and her Waldorf classmates, Charles Rawlins and Elizabeth Foster, were honored for their outstanding performance on the 2005 PreliminarySAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT (r)).
The Waldorf School of Garden City is proud to announce that high school seniors Elizabeth Foster, Claire Lyons, and Charles Rawlins were recently honored for their outstanding performance on the 2005 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT (r)).
"We are very proud of Elizabeth, Claire and Charles's outstanding academic achievements," said High School Chairman, Roland Rothenbucher. "Not only have they performed exceptionally well in a nationally recognized standardized test, they exemplify the best of Waldorf education. They are outstanding varsity athletes, accomplished artists, and people of service within their communities."
A resident of Garden City South, Claire has attended the Waldorf School since first grade and is the daughter of Waldorf School alumna Barbara (Costello) Lyons '76. Last year, Claire and her classmates were among more than 1.4 million students that took the Preliminary SAT / National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT (r)). In addition to being outstanding academic achievers, the three students are well-rounded individuals and have distinguished themselves in other areas as well. Elizabeth recently completed a cultural immersion program in Peru, Claire performs modern dance and Charles is an accomplished singer and pianist. All students play on the school's varsity athletic teams.
