Some of the current seniors on Garden City's Varsity Field Hockey team were only 4 or 5 years old when the team started its winning streak of 13 consecutive Nassau County Championships.
Some people might not even be able to remember the last time the team lost a game. (For the record, they've won 39 straight!)
On November 5th, in their Nassau County Class B Championship game against Manhasset, Caitlin Mullins scored two goals on penalty corners to help lead the team to a 2-0 victory and on to the Long Island Championship game.
Manhasset played tough and fought off two other penalty corners at the end of the first half but they let one up when Mullins scored as time ran out in the half.
The team will look to continue their winning streak as they play in the Long Island Championship game at Hofstra on Sunday, November 12th at noon.
If they are victorious at Hofstra, they will be heading north to Syracuse for the State Championship.
