The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club's U-10 Girls Patriettes, traveled to Jericho on Saturday morning, November 4, and played against the Jericho Heartbreak. Hearts were certainly pumping fast due to the quick pace of the game. The Heartbreak tried many times to break the heart of the Patriette defense, which consisted of Caitlin Kaczynski, Erin Rode, Annemarie Kane and Julia Biscardi. But alas they were denied. Time and again the defense would clear the ball to the ever-hustling forwards, Margot McTiernan, Alicia Mueller, Claire Murphy, Laurel Nothel and Kelsey Whitney. Their hard work paid off twice in the first half with two goals scored. The first half ended with the Patriettes leading 2-0. The Patriettes played a strong, smart second half, controlling most of the action. The Patriettes left the field with their hearts intact and a 2-1 victory.
