Kindergarteners and first graders at Hemlock School got to know one another over a joint discussion about the nature of friendship. Students at Hemlock School shared ideas about how to be great friends in Mrs. Maher's first grade and Ms. Sullivan's kindergarten classes last month as part of a character education program developed for them by the Primary School Site Base Team. After discussing the qualities that make a good friend, the kindergarteners and first graders helped each other trace their hands. The students then cut out the tracings and used them to create a bulletin board display.
