All Souls' Day Commemoration

2006-11-03 / Community

The next service of Choral Evensong at the Cathedral of the Incarnation will take place this Sunday November 5th at 4 p.m. It will commemorate the observance of All Souls' Day. Evensong is beloved throughout the Anglican Communion and is sung daily at the cathedrals in England. This meditative service will be sung by the Cathedral Choir of Men, Boys and Girls. Amongst the music to be presented will be the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis Colleguim Regale by Herbert Howells. The Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis are traditional parts of the service of Evening Prayer. Also, the choirs will sing the anthem "O How Glorious is the Kingdom" by Basil Harwood.

All are welcome to attend this special Evensong in the beautiful gothic structure in the center of our town. Come and experience a wonderful sense of peace with which to begin a new week. Take this opportunity to remember those who have gone before us and rest in the hand of God.
