Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem
On October 31, 5:09 a.m., police officers responded to an alarm at the Uptown Grill and found a rear door ajar there. Nothing was found missing at this time but an investigation continues... On October 28, 11:30 a.m., a 2000 Infiniti struck a tree at Cathedral Avenue/First Street, and the driver, a 72-year-old Glendale man, left the car locked and left the scene. Some hours later, he went to police headquarters to claim his impounded car, and was arrested for alleged DWI (.10%)... On October 30, 6:45 p.m., police officers responded to a call from a woman who said her brother had locked her in a basement of a Meadow Street house. Police arrived there and determined the man, a 49-year-old, also a resident there, had assaulted both his mother and sister, before locking them in the basement there. He was charged with unlawful imprisonment and for assault 3rd degree.On October 31, 3 windows of a car parked at Field 6 E were found broken, in addition to a tail light, with total damage at $2,000... A 17-year-old male employee at Sears was arrested there for allegedly stealing cash from a register there on October 31, 7:15 p.m... A 43-year-old Freeport woman allegedly took a $37 pair of DKNY jeans at Lord and Taylor, on October 29... On the same day, a 45-year-old Hempstead man allegedly took a $60 bottle of Vera Wang perfume at Lord and Taylor... A 55-year-old Garden City woman allegedly took a pair of First Issue Pants and an Apostrophe shirt at Sears on October 29.. .A 45-year-old Hicksville man was observed alleged passing a red light at Cathedral Avenue/Seventh Street on October 27, at 11:45 p.m. PO Graber arrested the motorist , who had also nearly hit 2 cars while driving, for passing a red light, no registration, no insurance, an improper U turn and for the violation of a conditional license due to alcohol... PO Stolz was making a traffic stop at Clinton Rd./Locust Street on October 26, 10:33 p.m., when a vehicle traveling northbound crossed over into the southbound lanes where his patrol car was stopped. Evidently, the driver of that car, a 32-year-old Woodmere men, was taking sleeping pills. PO Stolz was transported to Winthrop Hospital for head and neck injuries and the driver was arrested for the alleged possession of a controlled substance... Between October 28 and 29, someone stole a green Magna boy's bicycle from an unlocked garage. Value was $100... $471 was stolen from an employee's locker at the GC Hotel on October 26... On October 24, 3:25 p.m., PO Buonaiuto arrested a 23-year-old Ridge NY man for the possession of marijuana, as the man fetched his marijuana pipe that had fallen as he crossed Cherry Valley Avenue... PO Bandl arrested a 29-year-old Floral Park man for alleged speeding (67 in a 30 mph zone), no insurance, aggravated unlicensed operation, and for alleged DWI (.12%), at Cherry Valley Avenue, on October 24, 11:45 p.m...
