Garden City Shop At Election Day Fair
Some Auxiliary members sorting donations for sale at the Election Day Fair.
Because the bad weather caused the Street Fair to be canceled last Saturday, the Garden City Shop will be open at the Community Church Election Day Fair. They will be selling logo flip-flops for $20 per pair, ski caps for $15 and black nylon drawstring backpacks for $10. All items are imprinted with "Garden City" or "GC."
The annual Election Day Fair is a long-standing tradition at the Garden City Community Church. Since as far back as the late-1950's, members of the Auxiliary (known then as the Women's Auxiliary) have been cooking, baking, and making crafts for the Fair. The various sale rooms are named to coincide with the patriotic day the Fair is held. Over the years, the Fair has been changing and evolving to coincide with the busy lives we lead today.
This year the entire first floor, Main Street Marketplace, will feature boutique Vendor shopping selling a variety of new items both personal and for the home. In addition, special items are being collected for the Raffle Gift Baskets. Antiques and collectibles will be available in the Silent Auction.
Other traditional rooms will feature the popular Trash and Treasure, in Attic Treasures, gently used linens, glass, china and silverware, books, toys, electronics, pictures, frames and artwork.
Stop to enjoy a delicious lunch in the All-American Cafe and buy some homemade goodies (our famous chicken salad and apple pies) to bring home from the Gourmet Shop.
Something new this year--a Preview Sale open to the public on Monday evening, November 6, from 7 - 9pm. Admission is $5.00.
On Fair Day admission is free and the hours are 10am - 3pm. Please plan to attend this traditional and famous Garden City Event.
