Although the Goalbusters had a strong first half, and had many scoring opportunities available to them, they couldn't sink one. This resulted in a 0-0 tie at half time. The Goalbusters drew first blood against the Nightmare, however, in the first part of the second half. Kelly Reis stole the ball from Hicksville and dribbled past two defenders up the sidelines before crossing the ball to the middle of the field. Elizabeth Mahoney was there to take the shot which caught the high left corner making the score 1-0. The Nightmare took advantage of a miscommunication in the Goalbuster defense and was able to take a high, lofty shot of their own, which landed in the net making the score 1-1. They followed up with another goal, on a corner play. An unmarked player was opened and was able to take a shot, giving Hicksville the lead with a score of 2-1. The Goalbusters, knowing that time was quickly ticking away, started to turn up the pressure. Caroline Tarzian drew out the Nightmare defense and then took a long, high shot, which sailed over the head of the goaltender, making the final score 2-2. Goalbusters goaltender, Kate Butcher, made phenomenal saves throughout the entire match. T Takach, Kara Zerille, Katie McCarthy, Christine Codignotto and Lauren Williams took charge in defense. Elizabeth Mahoney, Emily Winchurch, Barbara Sullivan, Mikaela Rix, Colleen Mullin, Maria Sokolovic, Carly Cento and Cate Murphy took care of the mid-field while Caroline Tarzian, Krysta Cento, Kelly Reis attacked.
