David Roth To Perform
David Roth will perform at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Garden City, on Saturday, November 18.
James Taylor meets Jerry Seinfeld? Award-winning singer and songwriter David Roth and his thought-provoking presentations are replete with hilarity, poignancy, spontaneity, and inspiration. David's resume includes top honors at two of the country's premier songwriter festivals - Kerrville (TX) and Falcon Ridge (NY) - chosen both times from nationwide fields of several hundred artists. With 9 recordings, a 1994 NAIRD Indie nomination (singer/songwriter Album of the Year), lyrics in several Chicken Soup for the Soul books, two national anthems for the NBA's Michael Jordan-era Chicago Bulls, and appearances at concert halls, conferences, trainings and retreats throughout North America, David's "heavy-mental" music strikes many chords, hearts, and minds.
In addition to singing "Earth" at the 40th Anniversary of the United Nations in New York, David's "Rising in Love" was performed at the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall. "Manuel Garcia" and "Nine Gold Medals" (songs based on the true stories) both appear in Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and "May the Light of Love" in the classic folk song book Rise Up Singing. Music fans may have also heard Noel Paul Stookey singing David's "Spacesuits" on the 1999/2000 Peter, Paul, & Mary tours.
The church is located at 223 Stewart Ave (corner of Nassau Blvd.), Garden City, 1/2 block North of the Long Island Railroad Nassau Boulevard Station
