Lutheran Church Begins New Prayer Service
Reminded that God's house is to be a "house of prayer," ministry leaders at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City announce a new monthly prayer service. The church designates the first Wednesday of each month as a special time for Christians to come together to intentionally pray for and with each other.
Acknowledging the great gift and power of prayer, Pastor Bill Harmon, of Resurrection, said, "These meetings will give members of the congregation and members of the community an opportunity to gather to pray, sing, and grow in their prayer life. All are invited to these monthly events-churched, unchurched, members, and non-members.
The meetings begin at 7 p.m. for anyone who wishes to pray silently or with members of Resurrection's prayer team. During that time, music will be playing quietly. The prayer service starts at 7:30, with song, Bible readings, and prayer. After the meeting, the church will remain open an additional half hour for any who may wish to remain and pray.
Prayer requests may be submitted in advance to the church's web site, www.resurrectiongardencity.org.
