Opportunity To Assist Mothers In Need

The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is planning a community event to help provide much needed baby items to mothers in need. Resurrection is partnering with Lutheran Social Service of New York and New Life Center of Long Island (LSS of NY), in Uniondale, to collect donations of gently-used baby equipment and clean baby clothes. LSS of NY is a resource for agencies and hospitals who refer their clients to receive assistance. After receiving a referral, LSS of NY draws from their New Mother Program supplies, Food Pantry, or School Supply Program to provide needed items.

The collection drive will run Oct. 4-18. If you have gently-used, clean baby clothing, or baby equipment in good condition, such as baby strollers, car seats, high chairs, swings, exersaucers, baby baths, cribs, bouncy seats, pack-and-plays, bring them to the stage area in Resurrection's Parish Hall. Resurrection-Garden City is a Christian community of faith located at 420 Stewart Avenue. All are invited to worship at 5:30 PM on Saturdays and at 8:30 and 11 AM Sunday mornings, with Christian Education at 9:45 AM.
