Webelos Scouts Danny D., Alex D. and Zach K. prepare to launch their rockets. Pack 55 Cub Scouts had their first Pack Meeting September 18. The Scouts had a "blast" as they made rockets out of toilet paper tubes. Next they launched their rocket using a shop vacuum adapted for the rockets by Assistant Cubmaster Nat Alcamo.

Cubs also observed a science experiment provided by Den Leader Susan Quigley. Using Menthos mints and Soda the boys evaluated which type of soda makes the biggest explosion when the mints are dropped in the bottle.

Pack 55 Scouts are looking forward to their next Pack night, a Halloween Party with a costume contest. Pack 55 meets once a month on Monday night at Stratford School. If you are interested in joining Cub Scouts it's never too late, call Laura Sikorski for more information at 747-2797. Classes change, sports teams change, but Scouts stick together!
