Margaret Burchianti and Prahlad Gupta were married on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Summerset Winery in Indianola, Iowa. The Rev. Kathy Smith, aunt of the bride, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Edward and Eleanor Burchianti of Williamsburg, Virginia, and formerly of Garden City. Margaret is a 1996 graduate of Garden City High School and a 2000 graduate of New York University. She received her Masters degree in Anthropology from the University of Iowa in 2002, where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate.

The groom is the son of Indira Gupta of New Delhi, India and the late Dinesh Gupta. Prahlad received his Ph. D. from Carnegie Mellon University and is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Iowa.

Shawn Williams served as Maid of Honor for her cousin. Manish Gupta and Shamsher Varma served as Goomsmen for their cousin. Ushers were David Nasoff and Michael Smith, cousins of the bride. Margie Williams, aunt of the bride, served as Mistress of Ceremonies. Readers were Jean Gunn, Margie and Shawn Williams, Manish Gupta, Shamsher Varma, and Edward Burchianti.

The wedding ceremony incorporated readings and rituals from Western and Indian traditions. Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed dinner and dancing at the winery.

The bride and groom honeymooned in Breckenridge, Colorado and are currently residing in Iowa City, Iowa.
