After several rainy days it was wonderful to play with blue skies overhead and a warm breeze. From the minute the Extreme players took the field they demonstrated incredible teamwork. Every player communicated effectively and supported each other throughout the match. The outcome of this camaraderie was evident, as the Extreme came away with a 7-1 victory.

From the opening whistle, the Xtreme penetrated the Island Trees defensive third time after time. On the left side, precise combination passing by Colette Seel and Katie Roscoe set up some fantastic shots on goal. On the right, Lauren Miesemer and Cara Adams also created major problems for the Goldys. Cara made devastating attacking runs and Lauren played the ball perfectly to a sprinting Cara. Isabel McKeown was in at center forward. At every opportunity Isabel played the ball through the Island Trees back line, further pressuring the Goldys defense. Joanna Sokolovic's speed and persistence and Jenna Codignotto's pinpoint passing caused even more havoc for their opponents. Sam Miesemer and Lauren showed their great chemistry, by using give and go passes to further the Xtreme offensive. Although the Goldys had an excellent keeper, the Xtreme scored three times in the first half. On the defensive side, Cara, Katie, Jenna and Deanna DiPierro used their quickness and athleticism to stop some talented and fast Island Tree forwards. As center back, Deanna anchored the Xtreme defense by covering her outside stoppers. She assured that no Goldys attacker had any unchallenged shots on goal. On the rare occasion when the Goldys got a shot on goal, keeper Sam Derby had perfect positioning. Sam was in complete charge of the defense.

After 10 minutes, the Xtreme wore down the Island Trees defense and scored 4 more goals before the end of the game. Deanna, Cara, Katie, Sam D. and Jenna got opportunity to play forward in the second half. These forwards didn't give the Island Trees defense and goalie a break during the entire second half. Isabel, Joanna, Sam M. and Colette played in the back. They showed their versatility and were very quick to the ball, shutting down the Goldys offense. Lauren played keeper in the second half. She maintained control of the 18 yard box and easily cleared the ball out to the midfield.
