Ancona Shares Special Teams Award

Hobart College punter Dominick Ancona of Garden City earned a share of the Liberty League Football Special Teams Performer of the Week Award. The junior averaged a Hobart single game record 47.2 yards per punt, kicking four times for 185 yards, during the Statesmen's 31-27 win at William Paterson.

Ancona boomed two 52 yard punts against the Pioneers, the longest by a player in the Liberty League this season. He also recovered two fumbles on William Paterson kickoff returns and recorded a tackle to prevent a punt return for a touchdown.

Ancona's 47.2-yard punting average leads the conference.

The Statesmen improved to 2-0 with the win over William Paterson, but slipped one spot in the D3football.com top 25 to No. 19. Hobart opens its Liberty League slate at No. 24 Rensselaer.
