Architect's rendering of the view south, 1300 Franklin Avenue, former site of Saks Fifth Avenue
"What's going on at the former Saks Fifth Avenue site?" One of Garden City's most frequently asked questions will be answered at a presentation for the Garden City Chamber of Commerce at its season kick-off luncheon next Wednesday, September 27, noon at the Garden City Hotel. (Business Showcase at 11:30 a.m.)
Alfred Weissman, principal of Alfred Weissman Real Estate, Inc. and the firm's team of architects will provide answers and reveal future plans for 1300 Franklin Avenue. While there were many concerns with the closing of this Franklin Avenue landmark, the expectations for the building have increased dramatically with its purchase in 2005 by Alfred Weissman and his firm from Yonkers New York.
The Chamber cordially invites all members of the community - both business and residential, to hear Alfred Weissman and his team address the changes at the former Saks site as well as Mr. Weissman's vision for "Franklin Avenue's northern gateway to Garden City.
