Theodore Bean, Provost of the Cathedral of the Incarnation, has announced that repairs and renovations to the Cathedral's 208-foot spire has commenced. This project has been anticipated for several years by members of the Cathedral congregation, residents of the Village, and the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island. The cost of the project is in excess of $1.2 million dollars and will be the first phase of a series of renovations to the 120-year-old landmark facility.

"While we can expect to see considerable activity almost immediately, none of us should anticipate the disappearance of the scaffolding from around the spire until late next summer," Archdeacon Bean commented. he noted that the project will be interrupted for approximately 3.5 months during the winter. the anticipated completion date is September 1, 2007.
