"Pete's addition to the team marks another important step in the broadening of Active's capabilities and industry leadership," said Eric Larsen, chief operating officer of Active International. "His expertise in sales, marketing and media gives him a unique ability to connect with our clients, and provide additional insight into their needs."

Spina's accomplished background includes 30 years of sales and marketing experience. During his tenure at Vulcan Sports Media, Spina served as vice president and publisher of Sporting News Magazine. In this role, he had responsibility for managing the magazine, custom publishing, online and yearbook advertising as well as leading the integrated ad sales efforts involving other media platforms. "I'm very much looking forward to working with Active's top-tier roster of clients and the company's experienced sales force," said Spina. "Active's track-record is impressive, and with the team that's already in place, we are well-positioned for exciting possibilities in the future."

Spina is the latest in a series of significant appointments by Larsen to further expand the company's capacity to deliver higher impact programs for its clients.

Spina speaks regularly at New York-area universities and high schools about the changing advertising marketplace. In addition, he serves on a number of not-for-profit Boards and Committees including WORC, Children's House and Madison Square Boys and Girls Club, and he and his wife Chris are Co-Presidents of the Parent Board at the University of Delaware.
