FF Ed Galazka begins work on drivers door with Jaws Of Life
On Monday September 11th, Garden City firefighters were alerted for their "Jaws of Life" at a motor vehicle accident that occurred at Cathedral Ave and Third St. Units arrived on scene and observed a two-vehicle accident, where one vehicle was into a tree. Under the direction of Fire Chief John P. Casey and Assistant Chief James Meehan, firefighters utilized the "Jaws of Life" to extricate a female driver from the vehicle that struck the tree. The female driver was then transported via Nassau County Police Department ambulance to the hospital. The operator of the second vehicle also received medical treatment from ambulance personnel.
