Yolanda Eileen Guida

Yolanda Eileen Guida passed away on August 21, 2006. She was the beloved wife of Vincent, mother of Carol, Vincent, Robert, and the late Yolanda, grandmother of Michael, Vincent, Diana, Christopher, Alyssa, and the late Jeffrey. She was born in Bayridge, Brooklyn and attended St. Ephram's Elementary School and St. Brendan's High School. She also attended St. John's University.

Yola (to everyone) married Vincent on November 16, 1947 and were nearing their 59th wedding anniversary. The family lived in West Hempstead for 13 years and moved to Garden City in the mid sixties. Yola was active in the Association for the Help of the Retarded Children and the March of Dimes. She was one of the top salespersons in the fragrance department of Bloomingdale's, where she worked for 13 years. Yola and Vincent joined the Garden City Country Club in 1958. She was an avid and competitive golfer and recently won two 2nd Place prizes with her grandson, Christopher, in the parent child tournament.

One of her fondest activities was playing bridge with her girlfriends at the country club. Friends and family have enjoyed Yola's Italian cooking, her beautiful garden, and have admired her devotion to her family. We will remember her as a truly elegant lady and will miss her dearly.

Visiting was on August 22 and 23 at the Fairchild Chapel in Garden City. A religious service was held at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church on August 24th. Internment was at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, New York.
