Fairfield University, a Jesuit University founded in 1942 in Fairfield, Conn., presented 1,179 degrees at its 56th commencement on Sunday, May 21, 2006.

Lauren Murphy, a resident of Garden City, NY and daughter of Robert and Jane Murphy, was a member of the graduating class.

Lauren majored in Studio Art at Fairfield and was also active as Art Gallery Assistant.

A graduate of Garden City High School in Garden City, NY, Lauren plans a career in Magazine Layout and Design.
