James McCrann
James McCrann In the August 7th Board of Education meeting, the Board appointed James McCrann to the position of District Coordiator of Music and the Arts, and Kim Hardwick to the position of English Curriculum Coordinator. The administration and Board of Education have completed the process of hiring seven district coordinators.

James McCrann joined the Garden City Schools in 1994. He has a B. S. in music education, a M.A. in humanities from Hofstra University, and a PhD. in educational administration from Dowling College. Mr. McCrann has served as coordinator of Secondary Music from 2002 to the present and director of the Garden City High School band since 1994. He has permanent New York State citification as a School District Administrator, a music teacher K-12 and has provisional New York State certification as a School Administrator Supervisor.

Mr. McCrann holds membership in the following organizations. New York State Council of administrators of Music Education; New York State School Music Association; Music Educators National Conference; Modern Music Masters National Music Honor Society and the National Band Association. He has also performed with and conducted the Hofstra Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble.

Kim Hardwick
Kim Hardwick Kim Hardwick comes to the Garden City Schools from the Copiague School District. Ms. Hardwick has a B.A. in literature from CUNY Bernard Baruch College, an MALS in education from Suny Stony Brook, and a SDA certification from SUNY Stony Brook. Ms. Hardwick completed her administrative internship in the fall of 2003 at Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School where she taught English from 1996 to the present. She was a media specialist for the language arts program at Franklin K. Lane High School, Brooklyn, from 1992 through 1996. Ms. Hardwick has permanent New York State certification as a School District Administrator and as an English teacher 7-12.
