Who is Jesus? In modern society, free artistic expression and our omnipresent and varied media have much to present on that matter. Whether a contemporary Superstar, to a man who was "married with children," or the more morbidly sobering Mel Gibson depiction, Jesus has established a solid presence in the media. And yet, like the three proverbial blind men describing an elephant from different angles, how does the Jesus of pop culture relate to the Jesus of the Church?

Such diverse media imagery lends well to an interesting discussion, and that is just what will be taking place in a program, "Jesus in the Media." The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City is conducting a presentation and discussion open to all who are interested, Wednesday, August 30 at 8 p.m. in the church. Refreshments will be served.
