Adelphi University College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce that it will offer a new Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art in fall 2006. Adelphi is one of two institutions on Long Island to offer the B.F.A. in Studio Art.

Designed specifically for students who plan to pursue careers in the visual arts, the 72-credit program includes a strong liberal arts component as well as an emphasis on studio courses, art theory and art history courses. Students may select from concentrations in painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, photography, and illustration.

A capstone experience in the senior year will give students an opportunity to develop a sustained body of work and hold an exhibition.

The B.F.A. in Studio Art expands the University's art program offerings. In addition to the B.F.A., Adelphi offers a B.A. in Art, M.A. in Studio Art, and B.A. and M.A. in Art Education.

Students will attend classes in the new 18,000-square foot Fine Arts and Facilities building. The state-of-the-art facility features new studios, public exhibition galleries, classrooms, and faculty offices to support the University's acclaimed Fine Arts program.
