Local Restaurants Prepare For "Tastings 2006"
Chef DeBruyn of the Garden City Hotel is preparing delicious treats for you at "Tastings 2006" Please join the Garden City Unit of the American Cancer Society and The Miracle Foundation on Friday, September 15th for the much-anticipated "Tastings 2006". The culinary adventure will be hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ranieri, in their magnificent garden at 105 Hilton Avenue, from 7:00 until 10:00 pm.
"Tastings" provides an opportunity to enjoy the last rays of summer warmth at a final outdoor party with all of your friends and neighbors. As you mingle and catch up on everyone's summer vacations and news, you will enjoy the mouth-watering specialties prepared by Garden City's finest chefs, accompanied by delicious wines from Bill O'Neill & The Opici Wine Company. In addition, Walk Street will again host a delicious martini bar to refresh you. Your favorite restaurants will be there to offer the fare you know and love, as well as the many new restaurants that you've been wishing to try. The local dining establishments who have generously agreed to provide you a sumptuous feast include: Caffe Barocco, Calageros, Culinary Heights, Dunkin' Donuts, Garden City Pizza, Garden City Hotel, Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Jameson's Bar & Grill, Kings Supermarket Catering, La Bottega, Leo's, Novita Wine Bar, NY Soup Exchange, Reisterer's, Seventh Street Caf, The Orchid, The St. James, Town Meat Market, Upper Crust Caf, Uptown Grille, Walk Street, and Waterzooi Belgian Bistro.
"Tastings" is a delicious and fun-filled way to support the fight against cancer. Tickets to "Tastings" cost $100 each, $75 each for seniors, and door prize tickets cost $10 each or six for $50. One other special feature to "Tastings" is the opportunity the event provides to send a child with cancer, along with their siblings, on the fun-filled weeklong sleep away vacation known as the American Cancer Society's Camp Adventure. Over the years "Tastings" has sent more than twenty children on this special trip, and with your help we will continue this tradition with a special 50/50 drawing; these Camp Adventure tickets cost $100 each. All tickets are available by sending checks payable to The American Cancer Society to Mrs. Elizabeth Golden at 56 First Street in Garden City, NY 11530 (the event proceeds will be divided equally between the American Cancer Society and The Miracle Foundation). Prize winners need not be present, but we hope to see you there.
