In Memoriam Donald F. Connors

Donald F. Connors, 85, of Vero Beach, died July 8, at Indian River Estates Medical Center, Florida, after a prolonged illness.

He was born August 12, 1920 in New York, NY and moved to Vero Beach 15 years ago from West Plam Beach, FL. Mr. Connors was a 30 year resident of Garden City before moving to Florida.

He was a graduate of Chaminade High School Mineola, the University of Notre Dame, South Bend IN and Fordham Law School, New York. Mr. Connors was a senior partner with the law firm of Bigham, Englar, Jones and Houston, New York, overseeing their Admiralty Law Division.

He was a member of the Vero Beach County Club, long time member of the Cherry Valley Country Club, the Garden City Casino Tennis Club, and the Drug and Chemical Luncheon Club, Manhattan, NY.

Mr. Connors was a member of St. John of The Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, FL.

He was a Lieutentant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving during World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Molly G. Connors of Vero Beach, FL; sons, Donald F. Connors, Jr. (Allison) of Belle Meade, NJ, Gerald B. Connors of Port Washington, NY and Christopher G. Connors (Brit) of Garden City, NY; daughter, Mary Candace Vorhaus (Robbie) of North Haven, NY; 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Connors was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristy Connors.

A Mass Of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John of The Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Ft. Pierce, FL.
