Local High School Baseball Player, Matthew Colantonio, Selected To Participate In 2006 Usa Junior Olympic Tournament
Matthew Colantonio, from Garden City, New York, a Junior at Chaminade High School, was selected to participate with the Baseball Factory in the 2006 USA Baseball Junior Olympic Tournament to be held in Jupiter, Florida, June 23 to July 1, 2006. Professional scouts from Baseball Factory and Team One Baseball select players to be invited to the USA Junior Olympics. Baseball Factory and Team One Baseball joined forces in 2004, and together, in 2006, they have worked with over 3,000 top high school baseball players from across the country.
Colantonio, a catcher at Chaminade HS, will use this nomination to help jump-start his college recruiting summer and help propel him to a successful college baseball career. He will travel to Jupiter, Florida, and Spring Training home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Florida Marlins, to participate in the 2006 USA Junior Olympic Tournament.
