Nicholas deSousa and Vincent Vaiana looked over Robert Hyer's shoulder at a bird nest. Boys from Den 1, Pack 7, associated with the Garden City Middle School, visited the Garden City Bird Sanctuary Founder and President Rob Alvey explained and showed examples of the various types of bird nests they could expect to find within the Sanctuary. The boys had donated a large bag of bird seed and a flat of annuals. Unfortunately, the weather interfered with the planned planting of the annuals and the subsequent tour of the grounds, but President Alvey certainly "wet" their appetite for a return visit! Participating second-grade boys included Nicholas deSousa, Robert Hyer, Jake Murray, Eric Thorstenn and Vincent Vaiana.
