On June 17, 5 a.m., PO Bandl arrested a 30-year-old North Woodmere man for alleged DWI (.18%) at Franklin Ave./Eleventh Street... On June 20, a 51-year-old Franklin Square woman allegedly took a U-knit shirt and a Ralph Lauren shirt, as well as a Godiva chocolate bar, with a total value of $100 at Lord and Taylor, Franklin Avenue... Two men described as Afro-American allegedly walked into La Jouillier Jewelry, Franklin Ave., on June 20, and switched a diamond stud earring with a cubic zirconia one, before fleeing the store... On June 14, 9:59 p.m. PO Madden, while on routine patrol at the GC RR station, observed a 23-year-old Williston Park man crouching under a bench there. It turns out the man was in possession of a pipe with crack cocaine in it... On June 14, 11:13 p.m., PO Madden arrested a 27-year-old Hempstead man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree( 18 suspensions, 8 dates) and for the failure to signal a turn onto Hilton Avenue. The passenger in the car had an outstanding bench warrant from Family Court... An arson investigation is underway at the Rouge Restaurant, Franklin Ave. after a suspicious fire occurred there at 1:38 a.m., on June 15... An 80-year-old man was struck and later declared dead after a car being driven by a 19-year-old Elmont man struck him while he crossed Franklin Avenue, on June 17, at 10:53 p.m.... Between June 17 and 18, someone broke the driver side window of a 1995 Volkswagen parked in a driveway at Wilson St. $100 damage... On June 18, 4:15 a.m., PO Oswald arrested a 23-year-old Freeport man for alleged DWI (.13%) at Clinton Rd. The motorist was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree and for the failure to maintain a lane... On June 17, a 40-year-old Hempstead man allegedly took 20 designer shirts, Henry Jacobson and Tommy Bahama, valued at over $1600, at Lord and Taylor... Someone broke the window of a 2005 Mitsubishi parked in Field 9 E, on June 17, and stole a cell phone and a Franco Sarto pocketbook containing personal papers and credit cards...

On June 16, between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a..am., someone entered a Hawthorne Rd. residence through a sliding glass door, and stole 3 watches and a diamond and gold tennis bracelet, with a total value of over $10,000... On June 13, 8 p.m., someone scratched the sides of a 1998 Pathfinder parked in the garage at Sears. Damage was $800... On June 15 , a 39-year-old Jamaica woman allegedly stole assorted clothing items at Lord and Taylor... PO Florio arrested a 22-year-old Islip Terrace man for alleged DWI (.18%), a felony because of a prior DWI charge, and for allegedly speeding at 70 mph on Franklin Avenue, on June 16... On June 19, a 47-year-old West Hempstead woman allegedly stole $169 in clothing; a pair of Levi shorts, sandals, and 2 intimates, at Sears... Two men described as Afro-American allegedly took numerous clothing items from the women's department at Lord and Taylor, at 10:56 a.m., on June 19. Value was over $2100... Police received a call for a foot on the railroad tracks near Seventh Street/ Franklin Avenue, on June 15. The County Homicide/Medical Examiner arrived on the scene and later the MTA reported that the foot belonged to a non-human... On June 21, 12:50 a.m., 10 youths were seen at Franklin Ave./Seventh Street and when police arrived , one youth threw a rock. PO Hickey later apprehended the youth, who had run along the RR tracks. This 18-year-old Garden City teen, then hit the officer in the face causing contusions, pain and swelling. The youth was charged with assault 2nd, criminal trespass and resisting arrest... A 17-year-old female was issued an appearance ticket after she threw a party at Sandy Court on June 18. A 19-year-old male there was issued a ticket for the possession of alcohol... A 19-year-old GC youth was caught with beer after he was seen hiding in the bushes at Stratford School on June 16, at 10:22 p.m... On June 20, 3:52 p.m., a youth under the age of 16, was cited for harassing behavior after he was apprehended for ringing door bells on Wellington Rd... An 18-year-old GC teen, was issued a ticket for pulling out bushes near a Franklin Avenue business on June 19... On June 20, a construction company was cited for damaging a lawn with refuse at Franklin Ave./Twelfth Street...

Power was shut off and the engineer of a train removed the bicycle...
