Textbook Returns
During the month of June, if you wish to return last year's books and pick up next year's books, someone will be in the textbook room on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons after 12:30 to help you.
Beginning July 1, the bookroom will be open with someone to help you on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
If you choose to return your books at times other than the hours stated above, you will be asked to fill out a "book return sheet" and to leave the books in a bag provided by the reception office. After a review is made of the books returned, you will be notified if any books are missing. Before next year's books can be given to you, any missing books must be returned or paid for.
School Fall Permit Requests Due
June 16th is the last day that requests will be processed for use of public school facilities in the fall. Processing of permit requests will not start again until after September 15th. Permit requests are not processed during the summer recess.
Do not wait until the last day to submit a facility request. Any permit request that is backlogged and not finished processing by June 16th will not be processed until mid-September at the earliest.
Permits are required for any use by a qualifying community group seeking to use the Garden City School District facilities, including but not limited to use of gymnasiums, athletic fields, libraries, classrooms, auditoriums and cafeterias.
Permit requests are made through the Office of Continuing Education, 56 Cathedral Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530.
