mercyFirst serves over 3,000 abused, troubled, and neglected children throughout Long Island and New York City. The program offers stability to families in crisis through case management services, which help to resolve the issues threatening the family unit. These families may be struggling with financial hardships, physical or intellectual impairments, as well as emotional or behavioral difficulties, all of which hinder their ability to properly care for their children. The goal is to provide the support needed to keep the family together and prevent out of home placement of the children.
mercyFirst's Nassau Preventive Services Program is located at 233 Seventh Street in Garden City. It is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our families are in need of everyday hygienic and grocery items, as well as clothing and school supplies. They may also need help with prescription co-pays, as well as gas, electric, and phone bills. Donations are accepted year-round. Please call 516.873.9191 for more information on our services and how you can help.
Thank you in advance for your support and dedication to our mission.
