Promoted To Vice President

Kevin M. McDonagh, Sr., a native of Garden City, has been promoted to vice president of the Kool business unit at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, effective June 1. He was previously senior business unit director of Kool.

Prior to the 2004 merger of the U.S. business of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. (B&W) and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, McDonagh was director of the Advance cigarette brand. He joined B&W in 1993 as a sales/marketing trainee and became a brand associate in 1995. He held various roles abroad with British American Tobacco (BAT) from 1997 to 2001, first as a group brand manager based in Dubai, then in London as project manager. He returned to the United States as director of new products in 2001 and was promoted to director of Advance in August 2001, a position he held until joining R.J. Reynolds following the merger.

McDonagh, the son of Joseph and Mary Ann McDonagh of Garden City, N.Y., earned a master's degree in business administration from The College of William & Mary and a bachelor's degree in history from Loyola College in Maryland.

Casino Bridge News

This year's Casino night bridge ended on Saturday, May 6th. It was an enjoyable evening. Everyone enjoyed the dinner conversation and the start of some challenging bridge hands.

The winners for social bridge were Marie Ramos and John Pastula. The winners for party bridge were Maryann Kasprzak and Dick Kendrick. The winners for duplicate bridge were NS-Marion and George Cordes and EW-Claire Burns and Joan Cowie.
