Alex Hampton and Robert Finneran were recently honored at the 2005-06 Nassau County Coaches Association Basketball Awards dinner held at the Uniondale Marriot. Alex Hampton, a 6'4" senior forward, was the recipient of an "All Conference" award after averaging 15 points per game during the season. Rob Finneran, a 6'2" junior guard/forward, received an All County award after posting averages of 14 points, 10 rebounds and four assists per game.

The Garden City Boys Varsity basketball team completed a successful season under the direction of coach Kevin Kennedy by making the Nassau County "A" division playoffs for the second year in a row. The team was eliminated in a hard-fought first round playoff game by eventual Long Island champion Jericho High School. Team captain Brian Finneran and seniors John Cordio, Joe DiMasso, Alex Hampton, Tony Leondis, Pete Ungberg and Matt Petiton will be missed next year.
