Taking the field against perennial powerhouse Farmingdale, the Lady Rams gave everything they had in an 8 - 7 defeat.

The game started ominously with two quick Farmingdale goals. After a quick time out to regroup, Garden City fought back to tie the score on goals by Stephanie DiPierro and Haley Newlin-Wagner. Two more Farmingdale tallies were answered by a much needed score by Kerry Adams off a pass from Kelsey Tierney. The half ended with Farmingdale leading 4 - 3. The score would have been much worse if not for the tenacious defense of Casey McCarraher, Linda Attansio and Louisa Boliver in front of their gutsy goal tender Jackie Ferri.

The third quarter featured a rejuvenated Garden City squad led by their hard working midfield units. With face-offs being won by Niki Berkery and Liz Kane, midfielders Taylor Pappas, Erin McGowan and Morgan Taylor were able to control the ball and infiltrate the Farmingdale defense. This set up goals by MacKenzie Horl, Kelsey Tierney and Kerry Adams off a brilliant pass from Haley Newlin-Wagner.

With the score tied at six, the Lady Rams jumped out to a 7 - 6 lead on a goal by Caitlin Mallon to start the last quarter. That score did not hold up, however, as Farmingdale managed to score 2 late goals on the exhausted Garden City players, most of which had never come out of the game. The parents and coaches of Garden City were very proud of the effort given by all of the players and look forward to next week's game at West Islip.
