"The Newest Trends In BreastCancer Treatment"

An esteemed panel of breast cancer specialists will present the latest trends in breast cancer treatment on Monday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Adelphi University in Garden City. The free event is a program of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program.

Panelists are:

Ron Israeli, MD, an American Board certified plastic surgeon, practices at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset-LIJ Medical Center and Winthrop University Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of surgeons and a member of the American and NY Societies of Plastic Surgery.

Jigna Desai Jhaveri, MD, is a board certified radiation oncologist, who specializes in breast and gynecologic cancers. Dr. Jhaveri is director of Breast Oncology Service at Long Island Radiation Therapy in Garden City.

Karn Kostroff, MD, is chief of breast surgery for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Dr. Kostroff serves as director of a multidisciplinary breast tumor conference that broadcasts monthly to 10 Long Island hospitals. New York Magazine has recognized her for several years as one of the "Best Doctors in New York."

Steven Sugarman, MD, is an Associate Attending at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and on the faculty at Weil Medical College, Cornell University. He is Assistant Chair, Department of Medicine, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for Clinical Trials in the Regional Network. His specialty is the treatment of breast cancer.

Delthia Ricks, Newsday medical writer and author of "Breast Cancer Basics and Beyond," is the moderator.
