The Mental Health Association of Nassau County (MHA) has announced that Garden City resident Robert F. Larocca, Executive Vice President, Sterling & Sterling, Inc., will Chair its 2nd annual "Charity Golf Classic & Casino Night." The event is scheduled for Monday, May 22, at the prestigious Fresh Meadow Country Club in Great Neck. Mr. Larocca welcomes Co-Honorees Louis J. Biscotti, CPA, MBA, CITP, Managing Partner of the Rockville Centre firm Biscotti, Toback & Company CPA's P.C. and Fredrick C. "We are extremely pleased that Robert has agreed to serve as Chairman for this important fundraising event," said John Garvey, President, MHA Board of Directors. "Robert, Lou, Fred and the entire Committee are dedicated to raising the funds that will insure the continuation of our recovery programs for the adults and children who need them."

Robert F. Larocca joined Sterling & Sterling, Inc., one of the largest privately owned insurance agencies in the U.S., six years ago as Executive Vice President at the age of 31. One year later he was additionally appointed COO. He was instrumental in a restructuring of the company with new emphasis on employee training, team strategies and strategic expansion. This approach has fueled the company's growth, reflected in its recognition as one of Long Island's 25 fastest-growing private firms by Long Island Business News.

Earlier, after earning business management degree from C.W. Post/Long Island University, Mr. Larocca worked as an account executive for Marsh & McLennan. He later joined Johnson & Higgins and was subsequently hired as regional marketing manager by American International Group (AIG) New York office. There, he was promoted to branch manager of AIG Long Island, responsible for launching and operating the branch.

Mr. Larocca was introduced to the MHA when he served as a member of the 2005 MHA Charity Golf Classic & Casino Night. In addition, Mr. Larocca is Co-Chair and sponsor of the annual fundraiser for the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center and also is a board member for the Boy Scouts of America, Theodore Roosevelt Council. He previously Chaired the fundraising board for the Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect Annual Gala and raised funds for the Father Thomas Hartman Parkinson's Research Fund.
