Saint Anne's Church is sponsoring a drive to collect gifts for mothers who are faced with serious challenges. This social ministry effort will take the items donated and create individual gift bags with Mother's Day messages. The bags will be delivered to Nassau County shelters that support mothers and children in crisis who may be victims of abuse, homeless, or unwed mothers who are supported through pregnancy to self dependency.

Donations are now being accepted through May 9 th at Saint Anne's Church, located at 35 Dartmouth St. in Garden City. The collection closets are open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enter through the main church doors, go to the top of the stairs, and the closets are on the left. Donations should be labeled "Mother's Day."

Most needed gift items : shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, hand & face cream, mouthwash, deodorant, perfume/cologne, disposable cameras, bath & body items, manicure items, nail polish, lipstick, laundry soap, make-up, picture frames, combs/brushes, box of candy, jewelry, travel clock, Metro card.

If you are unable to do the shopping, you can make a monetary donation. Please make a check (no cash, please) payable to Saint Anne's Church with a notation that it is for "Mother's Day Program.
