Thursday Luncheon Program On Senior Issues
The Thursday luncheon group will meet on April 27 in the parlor of the Garden City Community Church. This friendly group offers an opportunity for senior citizens to learn more about the services presently available to seniors and where to go if they should need help in staying in their residence. The two presenters for this program will be Joan Cox, geriatric manager for the Families Children Services of Nassau County who has a certificate in Gerontology from Hofstra University, and Sue Salko, CSW, coordinator of the Garden City Senior Project, a program of the Family and Children's Association funded by State Senator Kemp Hannon.
The group meets in the church parlor from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Guests are asked to bring a sandwich for lunch and members of the community are welcome to attend. Dessert and beverages will be provided by hostesses Lynn Finnerty and Lyla Kiernan.
Call the church office at 746-1700 if you need transportation. Come and learn more about the many programs available in our community.
